25 years old Marc Lepine opened fire at Ecole Polytechnique, armed with a Ruger mini 14 semi-automatic rifle with iron sights and normal magazines killed 14 women and injured 14 people, it has been speculated that Lepine tried to modify his rifle to take high-capacity magazines but damaged it and made it into a bolt action rifle
