Main rules

1. No content that is illegal under American federal law. This includes images of animal cruelty (animal crush content is a federal crime) and sexual content of minors (including fictional characters). "Revenge porn" is also prohibited, it being illegal in several US states. All other content prohibited by US law that is not enumerated here is also prohibited. Linking to such content is also prohibited.
2. Members must be 18 or older. This is a website for adults. Minors will be banned until they turn 18.
3. No encouraging, glorifying or promoting the commission of serious violent crimes.
4. No making light of, mocking or condoning violence against victims of serious violent crimes.
5. No planning any crimes, even hypothetically. Any serious indication that anyone is plotting a serious violent crime will be forwarded to law enforcement and the user in question will be permabanned.
6. Any user who commits a serious violent crime will be permabanned and their posts will be hidden from view.
7. No TCC posting. This includes hybristophilia. No using as usernames the real or online names of notorious criminals or attempted criminals, no profile pictures of criminals, etc.
8. Graphic content is allowed, but must be relevant to the topic of discussion. This is not WatchPeopleDie. Graphic images must be placed in BBCode spoiler tags. To use spoiler tags, either click the crossed out eye icon in the top editing bar of the visual editing mode (accessed by clicking the three horizontal dots). You can also use BBCode editing mode (accessed through the [] menu in the top right), by doing this:

   [SPOILER="spoiler name here"]spoiler content[/SPOILER]

9. NSFW content not relevant to the discussion topic is prohibited. If it has relevance, use spoiler tags.
10. No posting anything likely to cause hosting problems for the forum.

Other behavioral guidelines

1. No disruption of discussion.
2. Do not post if you have nothing to say. No low effort posting.
3. Be civil and mature. No inappropriate humor.
4. Post in the appropriate boards.
5. Keep extensive, tangential discussion of politics to off topic. Brief on topic discussions are fine.

All rules apply in direct messages. Which I can look at, so don't be stupid.

The first few posts of any user will be subject to "snail-posting", meaning they must be manually approved before they are visible to other users. After the initial few posts go through, you will be allowed to post normally.

TLDR don't commit crimes and don't be annoying.
